Aqua blue chair redo

I have a weird fascination with chairs and I always have. I don’t know why but I love them. They are so visually versatile but also very simple.  Every time I see a chair that draws me to it I want to buy it, but then I’d have a house full of chairs…I mean at least if you’re into shoes you can wear them! And I only want the chairs, I don’t want the table! I know very weird but that’s ok. We all have our “weird”.

A few weeks ago I found some chairs that I couldn’t walk away from…well I could but I came back and got them. I brought them home and I was so giddy with excitement!! I felt like a kid with a new toy! As soon as I got them in the car my creative brain was unleashed and the vision for the new chairs was born. I would like to say I got to work on them as soon as I got home, but I’ve got four kids and at least one of them if not all are in my face for one reason or another. I did finally get to work on the chairs and I think they came out fantastic so I’m gonna share:

Thomasville Chairs I found

Testing out the new color, Valspar’s Exotic sea glass.  I decided to go with a spray because I don’t like brush lines. The coverage was good and it didn’t take as much time as it would of had I used a brush. The dry time with the spray seemed to be much faster than regular paint.

One down one to go

Gave it a good sanding and on went the paint. I love how glossy the paint came out. One thing I didn’t think about was all the pain I was in for the next day. I don’t know why I couldn’t figure out why I was so sore the next day lol! I think next time I won’t try to get it all done at once.  I could have taken more time and might not have been so sore. I don’t know if there’s a way to get around the sore fingers but oh well I still think it was worth the time saved. Not to mention no drips to sand down.

Here is the seat cushion I redid in a beautiful outdoor Better Homes and Garden print. I love the funky, chunky flower print on this. I spent about twenty minutes looking through fabric to match before this jumped out at me and I knew it was the ONE. Oh how I love a good find 🙂

Here’s one of the finished chairs. I know it’s a weird angle.  I think they turned out pretty cute, and I love the color! Too bad pictures don’t really capture the color that well. They are much more vibrant in real life.

Here they both are all finished. YAY! Now I just need to get rid of them because I have three more chairs I found to work on 😀 I loved working on this project it was a great way to let my creative side loose. Also very relaxing.

Anyway I hope you have something that you are passionate about and can find a way to let your creative side come to life. If you do I’d love to hear about it!

Cheers
